This Blue Denim Jacket carries the soul of the eighties and the spirit of modern upcycling all in one piece.
The base is a thrifted vintage jean jacket - already softened by time - reimagined with fragments of a hand-embroidered artwork I created in 1984. I placed the embroidery carefully so it feels like an heirloom textile stitched directly into the denim, then added vivid red rose embellishments and a bold band of black glitter trim for a hint of drama.
The mix of worn-in blue, bright roses, and inky sparkle means this jacket easily shifts from casual to dressy. I styled it here with a silk skirt to show how beautifully it can hold its own at a dinner out, but it looks just as striking thrown over a tee and boots.
